Within the framework of sustainable development, University of Bordeaux participated twice in solardecathlon challenge. The aim of this university challenge is to build a true house with high technical performances.Competition between several universities leads to a ranking based on several strong criteria. The paper describesgeneral organisation of the project, technical and financial aspects, highlights education impacts and the necessarycollaboration between private companies, and several schools and departments of Bordeaux University. Finally, wepresent a small scale house derived from the true scale model built, which is now used in ENSEIRB-MATMECAschool for didactical lessons for the students of electronic department.Read less <
