In this work we use the erodible model proposed by Tai and Kuo to investigate complex granular ows in which deposition and erosion are signicant. The initial motivation comes from experiments of granular collapse which exhibit both phenomena. A numerical model with a ux balanced scheme is developed, and the eigenstructure of its quasilinear form as well as the entropy inequality are assessed. Numerical application is performed for granular column collapse is simulated by the new well-balanced scheme. For the latter, numerical results demonstrate an upward evolution of the interface between the owing layer and stagnant base. Comparison between the numerical and the experimental data not only illustrates the advantages of this model of erosion/deposition mechanisms but also reveals the future directions for further study.< Réduire
