The social acceptability of local development projects is in a large measure determined by the representations which the local resident populations have of the future sites. These representations relative to supposed impacts or pollution, to the usefulness or the project or the image of the owners may feed reject reactions, the strength of which makes up a real obstacle to the realisation of some equipments of general interest. At this stage, solving the conflict of setting up a project needs to take into account claims more ideal than material. In spite of their apparent subjectivity, it is not only possible but desirable to identify these representations, in order to determine the division factors which they are likely to carry. This paper leans on the analysis of a few anti-motorway drawings, to understand how territories react on the arrival of this kind of infrastructure.< Réduire
