The pair annihilation of identical static particles distributed at random in a d-dimensional space is studied in the large time regime for a tunneling law. A superposition approximation is used to close the hierarchy of equations describing the process, and it is shown that the density and pair correlation of surviving particles have universal scaling expressions that are exactly calculated. These results are in close agreement with Monte Carlo simulations in one, two, and three dimensions.Read less <
