A comparative study of the electronic state of 57Fe probe atoms in nickelates and cuprates La<i>M</i> 0.99 57Fe0.01O3 and LaSr<i>M</i> 0.99 57Fe0.01O4 (<i>M</i> = Ni, Cu) was performed by Mössbauer spectroscopy. It was shown that the valence states of the probe atoms in these matrices differ considerably. The iron atoms in both nickelates are in one of their conventional valence states (Fe3+), while the hyperfine interaction parameters in the cuprates correspond to iron atoms in a formal oxidation state of +4. The differences observed in the valence states of the probe 57Fe atoms are due to the different electronic configurations of Ni and Cu atoms in the oxides under consideration.< Leer menos
