Celtic coinage is extremely varied and is the main iconographic medium of the Iron Age. Celtic art displayed all its creativity and developed an abstraction that served as a source of inspiration for many contemporary artists, including the Surrealists. Behind this abundance of figurative art lies a multitude of representations, images and signs. The main problem is that the names of these symbols have never been standardised and vary depending on the source and the author. The purpose is to be able to isolate, identify and codify Celtic monetary images to help us understand them.
