This paper proposes a new digitizer architecture, called MIXIC for MIXed signal Interference Cancellation, in order to reach Rx dynamic range performance beyond state-of-the art converters. The proposed solution combines a couple of analog-to-digital converters and a digital-to-analog converter in order to reduce the influence of thermal noise intrinsic to direct conversion architectures. The solution is detailed alongside its impact on the overall digitiser noise factor by comparing it with an architecture using classic Automatic Gain Control (AGC) techniques. Results are also presented by using digital communication signals to obtain both BER and spectral representation which highlight a 10 dB gain for the dynamic range.< Leer menos
