This paper aims to examine the scope of N. Georgescu-Roegen’s bioeconomic ethics in order to question the foundations of a law of the Natural commons. The ethical stance developed by the economist in his bioeconomic approach is implicitly based on a principle of interdependence according to which the evolution of societies and the biosphere are linked at different levels of complexity. This principle supports an holistic conception of environmental ethics that grants the Natural commons the right to exist and regenerate in a finite world. It also underpins the need to profoundly change our relationship with nature if the permanence of humanity is to be guaranteed.< Leer menos
