Wild boars represent an animal species very appreciated among hunters. They are no longer reduced to agro-forestry areas they were initially assigned to. Uninvited, the forest specie now takes advantage of the feeding, resting and breeding sites offered by the undeveloped vegetated areas of main European cities: Barcelona, Madrid, Berlin, Budapest, Krakow, Geneva and Rome. Bordeaux is no exception: "urban nature" policies encouraged an ecological continuity from agro-forestry areas to the heart of the city. Lines between natural environment and urban areas become thinner for wild animal species; animals have entered the city. Urban wild boar is a case of study of this contemporary environmental and societal evolution: biological and behavioural adaptations of wild animals acclimatised to urban environments, human systems of governance of urban nature, environmental policies, rural/urban dichotomy, nature representations, link between science and politics. Often studied in its ecological, social, veterinary or anthropological dimensions, it can be analysed in a global and interdisciplinary way. In this text, we will focus on regulation/planning measures elaboration to face the current issues about wild species irruption on Bordeaux Métropole open spaces.< Réduire
