A safe, cheap and straightforward on-demand hydrogen generation method has been developed using a polymethylhydrosiloxane (PMHS) emulsion as a hydride donor in a highly alkaline solution without the need of any other harmful catalyst. This system was used as a chemical blowing agent in the preparation of kraft black liquor foams.< Réduire
