The ability of solid oxide fuel cells (SOFC) to utilize commonly available fuels with high efficiency at 650–1000 8C promises an effective and early reduction in carbon dioxide emissions. Decreasing the operating temperature of SOFC is an important technical goal toward down-sizing, frequent operation stop, and the use of low-cost flexible metal interconnectors.
