In an experiment performed at the LISE3 facility of GANIL, we studied the decay of $^{22}$Al produced by the fragmentation of a $^{36}$Ar primary beam. The $\beta$-decay half-life and $\beta$-delayed one- and twoproton emission as well as by $\beta-\alpha$ and $\beta$-delayed $\gamma$ decay were measured and allowed us to establish a partial decay scheme for this nucleus. The comparison with model calculations strongly favours a spin-parity of I$^\pi$ = 4$^+$ for the ground state of $^{22}$Al.< Réduire
