| dc.description.abstractEn | This article analyzes the novel by the Peruvian Jorge Eduardo Benavides The Enigma of the Convent (2014) that develops the theme of the wars of independence in Arequipa and Madrid, in the light of the research on the historical narrative and the Peruvian literary tradition inherited from Ricardo Palma and at regional level from Arequipa's María Nieves and Bustamante. After presenting the double historical and police orientation, the research relates the work to the contemporary context, the literary production and the nomadism of Benavides between the two shores. | |

Después de presentar la doble orientación histórica y policial, la investigación relaciona la obra con el contexto contemporáneo, la producción literaria y el nomadismo de Benavides entre las dos orillas. | |
