| dc.description.abstract | La Société wallonne des Eaux (SWDE) et l'Institut National de Recherche pour l'Agriculture, l'Alimentation et l'Environnement (INRAE), se sont associés de 2020 à 2023 pour mener le projet de recherche appliquée intitulé 'Gestion patrimoniale multi-échelle des réseaux d'eau potable' ( GePaME). L'un des principaux résultats opérationnels du projet est un outil d'aide à la décision multicritère pour le renouvellement des canalisations basé sur des indicateurs de performance. Deux critères de performance majeurs de cet outil abordent la réduction des pertes en eau, ce qui a conduit au développement d'un Indicateur de Performance dédié, PIWL. PIWL est conçu pour prioriser les tronçons de canalisations qui présentent une forte probabilité de fuite, qui font partie d'un secteur hydraulique avec un niveau élevé de pertes en eau et pour lesquelles la recherche active des fuites (ALC) a une efficacité limitée. Cette priorité est également renforcée si le secteur présente des risques de pénurie d'eau. | |
| dc.description.abstractEn | The Walloon Water Company (SWDE) and The National Research Institute for Agriculture, Food and the Environment (INRAE), have joined forces from 2020 to 2023 to carry out the applied research project entitled ‘multi-scale asset management of drinking water networks’ (GePaME). One of the main operational results of the project is a multi-criteria decision support tool for pipes renewal based on Performance Indicators. Two major performance criteria of this tool address the reduction of water losses, which led to the development of a dedicated Performance Indicator (PI), PIWL. PIWL is designed to prioritize pipe sections that have a high probability of leaking, that are part of a District Metered Area (DMA) with high level of water losses, and for which Active Leakage Control (ALC) has limited effectiveness. This priority is also set higher if the DMA presents risks of water shortage. | |
