| dc.description.abstract | Cet article s'appuie sur l'analyse des mémoires de Gabriel d'Arboussier, grande figure politique des indépendances africaines. Véritable roman du métissage et du cosmopolitisme impérial-voire mondial-, ces deux manuscrits inédits offrent une entrée originale dans une histoire sensible de la situation coloniale. Partant du prisme d'un « métis » qui a la particularité d'être autant Français qu'Africain, cet article propose d'explorer ses logiques d'action et son système de représentation. Nous montrons combien ces écrits de soi offrent un excellent observatoire des constructions sociales et identitaires du métissage, et comment ils permettent de saisir les tensions biographiques et familiales générées par l'histoire coloniale et des décolonisations. | |
| dc.description.abstractEn | This article is based on the analysis of the memoirs of Gabriel d'Ar-boussier, a major political figure of African independence. A gripping account of mixed heritage and imperial-even global-cosmopolita-nism, these two unpublished manuscripts offer an original entry point into a sensitive history of the colonial situation. Starting from the perspective of a "mixed-race" man who had the particularity of being as French as he was African, this article seeks to explore his logic of action and system of representation. We show how these writings of the self offer an excellent observatory of social constructions and identities of interraciality, and how they allow the reader to grasp the biographical and family tensions generated by the history of colonialism and decolonization. | |
