| dc.description.abstractEn | This work is based on the handwritten testimony of naval officer Alphonse de Moges (1825) and the letters of the first French consuls Chaumette and Barrere (1828-1832) to reconstruct the lives of migrants in the first decades of republican life. The political alliances and marriage strategies of the most successful businessmen are remembered in the biographies of Aquiles Allier, Miguel Montané and Augusto Dreyfus in times of false prosperity based on the export of guano. After the disaster of the war in the Pacific, the orientation of Peruvian migration policy changed; attempts were made to attract migrants from southern Europe in order to develop the exploitation of rubber. | |

Las alianzas políticas y estrategias matrimoniales de los empresarios más exitosos se recuerdan con las biografías de Aquiles Allier, Miguel Montané y Augusto Dreyfus en momentos de la prosperidad falaz basada en la exportación del guano. Después del desastre de la guerra del Pacífico cambia la orientación de la política migratoria peruana ; se intenta atraer a migrantes del sur de Europa para desarrollar la explotación del caucho. | |
