dc.description.abstractEnAstrocytes are polarized cells that are known to take up glucose while delivering lactate, not glucose, for neuronal use. A new study suggests how astrocytes could facilitate glucose uptake, storage and funneling at energy-requiring sites through a privileged intracellular route.
