La station du quarantième des Gaules à Lugdunum des Convènes (Saint-Bertrand-de-Comminges)

Abstract

L'étude approfondie de l'inscription de la station douanière de Lugdunum des Convènes permet de revenir sur la question de sa localisation et d'enrichir nos connaissances sur le personnel subalterne de l'administration financière de l'Empire romain. À la lumière des recherches récentes, l'ar-ticle fait aussi le point sur l'emplacement de la station dans la ville et la taxation du commerce local. mots-clés Station douanière, portorium, administration financière, esclaves et affranchis impériaux, commerce du marbre. AbstRAct A thorough research about the inscription of the custom station at Lugdunum Convenarum allows to go back over the issue of its site and to improve our knowledge concerning the financial sub-clerical grades in the Roman Empire. By the light of recent studies, this paper is also interested in the lo-calisation of the station in the city and in the taxation of local trade.
