| dc.description.abstract | Cette thèse est l’étude de 1729 amphores retrouvées à l’occasion de 17 fouilles archéologiques qui se sont déroulées dans la ville de Bordeaux entre 1979 et 2007. Les amphores forment un ensemble de 98 types et sous-types sur une durée de huit siècles, de la seconde moitié du Ie siècle a.C. à la première moitié du VIIe siècle p.C. Fondée sur un nombre important d’individus, originaires de toutes les provinces de l’empire romain, répartis sur une longue période, l’étude permet de considérer l’évolution des types d’amphores d’un point de vue quantitatif comme qualitatif. C’est ainsi tout le commerce de Burdigala mais aussi la place de son port au sein du commerce romain qu’il est possible d’appréhender. | |
| dc.description.abstractEn | The purpose of this thesis is the study of 1729 amphorae discovered in Bordeaux between 1979 and 2007, on the occasion of 17 excavations campaigns. The amphorae constitute a set of 98 types and subtypes used in the course of eight centuries, from the second half of 1st century BC to the first half of 7th century. Based on a significant number of amphorae, coming from every province of the Roman Empire and used for a long period of time, the study allows to consider the evolution of amphora types from both a quantitative and qualitative perspective. That is the way to grasp the importance of commerce in Bordeaux but also the port's place in Roman commerce. | |
