dc.description.abstractEnThe management of competencies has become an important issue in companies these last years. Closely related to the knowledge management, it considers the capacities from an individual to act using his knowledge. It becomes a tool for companies to manage human resources on the long run. To be able to characterize useful competences; to be able to evaluate how they are improved by past experience and successive jobs occupied; and thus to be able to select project team members according to existing competencies or to be improved competencies are some of the concerns that people in charge of companies have to manage. We focus in this paper on the coordination of design activities in order to propose a tool dedicated to project managers on an operational level to manage competencies for better team building. The aim is to improve team performance at short and long term, while preserving the link with human resources departments. We base our work on the results of the ATLAS project which studies the coupling between systems design and design projects management. We propose a first tool allowing competencies management into a design project.
