dc.description.abstractLa grotte Kozarnika située dans le nord-ouest de la Bulgarie renferme 21 couches sédimentaires qui contiennent de bas en haut : des industries du Paléolithique inférieur (couches 13 à 11a), du Paléolithique moyen (couches 10b à 9a), du Paléolithique supérieur ancien (couche 6/7), une séquence d'une industrie originale lamellaire à pièces à dos que nous avons appelé le Kozarnikien (couches 5c à 3a) et enfin du néolithique ancien, énéolithique récent, Âge du Bronze récent, Moyen-Âge et période ottomane. La base de la séquence paléolithique inférieur est datée par la microfaune et la macrofaune entre 0,8 et 1,4 Ma (couches 13 à 11c) et son sommet entre 0,4 et 0,6 Ma (couche 11a). L'étude préliminaire du paléomagnétisme montre l'existence d'une instabilité du vecteur magnétique au niveau de la couche 11c ce qui pourrait traduire l'amorce d'un changement de polarité (vers 0,78 Ma ?). Il s'agit d'une industrie lithique sur éclats et nuclei non acheuléenne. On notera également la présence d'une DI1/ droite humaine dans la couche 13 et, dans la couche 12, du plus ancien témoignage d'une activité « symbolique » jamais découverte.
dc.description.abstractEnThe Kozarnika cave located in the North-West of Bulgaria contains 21 geological layers which contain upwards archaeological complexes of Lower Palaeolithic (layers 13 - 11a), Middle Palaeolithic (layers 10b - 9a), Early Upper Palaeolithic (layer 6/7), a sequence of an original bladelets industry with backed pieces which we called Kozarnikian (layers 5c - 3a) and finally Lower Neolithic, Late Eneolithic, Late Bronze Age, Middle Age and Ottoman period. The base of the Lower Palaeolithic sequence is dated by the microfauna and the macrofauna between 0.8 and 1.4 My (layers 13 - 11c) and its top between 0.4 and 0.6 My (layer 11a). The preliminary study of the paleomagnetism shows the existence of an instability of the magnetic vector in the layer 11c what could translate the starter of polarity change (towards 0.78 My?). The lower palaeolithic assemblages belong to a core-and-flake non-Acheulian industry. Noteworthy is the presence of a human right DI1/ in layer 13 and, in layer 12, of the oldest testimony of a "symbolic activity" never discovered.
