Cyber-physical Systems (CPS), combining embedded electronics and processing data tools, can be considered a suitable solution to manage complex systems like intelligent buildings (IBs), while ensuring the users’ wellness and the environment preservation. In this frame, this paper overviews the recent advances made both in CPS and Internet of Things, applied to two major subjects enabling the optimal operation of IBs: multi-energy management and structural health monitoring.
