Following the development of new concepts and methodologies, important breakthroughs have been achieved recently in the field of polymer synthesis and control of chain polymerisations. Concerning radical and anionic, the research activities have mainly concerned the control of reactivity of active species involved in the initiation and propagation reactions, in order to suppress side processes and allow the synthesis of complex macromolecular structures. In polymerisation catalysis, illustrated by metallocenes and post metallocenes catalysis, the goals were quite different and aimed at the formation of a very large number of chains by active metal. Very recently, however, with the discovery of new complexes, research has been reoriented towards the living polymerisation of olefins and its applications.Read less <
