Photovoltaic energy: bolts and perspective This paper aims to present and compare the technologies used and envisaged to be used in the future for photovoltaic conversion. In addition to devices based on silicon (be they monocrystalline, polycrystalline, thin layer and so on), which have at least reached a certain industrial maturity, other emerging routes based on inorganic thin layer devices (such as CdTe and CIS types) and semi-conducting polymers are discussed. All these technologies are considered to be complementary and will be necessary to effectively confront the energy needs of the 21(st) century.Read less <
