dc.description.abstractEn	From a base population of 635 "plus" trees selected in the forest as from the 1960's, based on criteria for growth and stem form, the genetic breeding programme for the maritime pine has followed a recurrent selection scheme. The management mode for the breeding population now needs to be reviewed so as to reconcile both the maintenance of diversity in the long term in the increase in genetic gain
