Electrochromic materials are able to change their optical properties reversibly upon the application of a DC voltage or current. The field of electrochromics spans a large and diverse class of materials, including metal oxides, metal hexacyanometallates, metal hydrides, metal deposition, low molecular weight materials, conjugated polymers, transition-metal complexes and polymers, just to name a few…. The applications stand from smart windows, rear views mirrors to displays in agreement with suitable architectures of the EC device allowing transparency or reflectivity addressing both the visible and the infra-red regions.IME13 will provide an interdisciplinary forum for exchange of ideas and discussion of new results and crucial achievements in the electrochemical science and technology of electrochromic and related materials with respect to the understanding of their fundamental properties as well as their applications. Novel materials, devices design, and modeling will receive special attention. This Special IME13 issue will gather high quality selected papers addressing all aspects of electrochromic and may include other chromogenic related topics such as thermochromism and photochromism.< Réduire
