Three (KFeMg2Si4O12, KAlFe2Si4O12, KFe4Si3O12) were prepd. by a solvothermal synthesis using a gel precursor and 2-methoxyethanol as solvent at 750° and 160 MPa during 3 days. The powder x-ray diffraction characterizations indicate that these new materials are isostructural with 1M polytype of phlogopite mica and exhibit a layered structure. Also the IR spectra confirm the absence of hydroxyls groups in the structure, which improves the thermal stability of the materials. Finally the obsd. magnetic behaviors are consistent with low dimensionality magnetism.Read less <
