Questioning the bicultural nature of people in situation of migration, sometimes for several generations, is often confronted with the double problem of integration in the host country (or country of residence, for the second generation and beyond), as well as the memory of the country of origin (or inheritance). That’s why in this article, the classical analysis of the linguistic representations of migrants will be put into perspective with theoretical works on the categorization of languages in migration situations. This work, in the form of typologies (focused on different aspects from the migratory phenomenon), will be presented before the results of surveys in order to subsequently verify to what extent they can help the understanding of field observations.Read less <
